Harold Silva Obituary

Harold P. Silva Passed away September 21, 2010 at the age of 81. Former husband of Marion Silva; father of Mike(Diana) Silva, Jack Silva, Matt(June) Silva and Judy(Todd) Thompson; grandfather of Lisa, Kyle and Kevin Silva, Joe Silva, Daniel, Katie Marie and Gregory Silva, and Brian and Kristen Petersen; son of the late Verne and Margaret Silva; brother of Maryann Martinez, and preceded in death by his brother Ben Silva and his sister Dorothy Quistgard; he is also survived by many nieces, nephews and grand nieces and grand nephews. Harold was born and raised in San Francisco. He graduated from Mission High School. He served in the US Army and the Coast Guard from 1946-1952 as a paratrooper in the 11th Airborne Division, and as a Merchant Seaman. Harold retired after 30 years as building operations control center manager at Pacific Bell in 1985. Friends may visit Sunday October 3rd from 3-8pm and are invited to attend the Rosary Sunday at 7pm at Duggan's Serra Mortuary, 500 Westlake Ave, Daly City. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday October 5th at 12pm at St. Paul's Church, 221 Valley St, San Francisco. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Colma. A celebration of life will be at the Oyster Point Yacht Club, 911 Marina Blvd, SSF following the cemetery.
