Date of Birth April 23, 1917
Date of Death March 12, 2013
June was a proud third generation San Franciscan, who lived most all of her life in sight of the Pacific Ocean. For the recent past nine months, due to a fall and surgery she lived at a Rehab facility in Castro Valley.
She was predeceased by her husband, Bernard A. Atkinson in 1997, after a marriage of over 47 years. She was retired for many years after a working career in a San Francisco not for profit business assisting the mentally challenged.
A fantastic cook, who dazzled her grandchildren by "never measuring anything", revealing just enough to attempt her recipes, but never all of her culinary secrets, always kept a vanilla bean in the sugar container and always had cookies available, as well as the grandma hugs, and her blue diamond eyes.
She is survived by her son and daughter in law, William and Sharon Atkinson of Castro Valley, CA, and their children Andrea A. Atkinson and Matthew T. Atkinson, and her daughter and son in law, Carol A. Atkinson and Robert Silva, also of Castro Valley.
A funeral mass is scheduled in celebration of her life at 10:00 AM on Friday, March 22, 2013 at Holy Name of Jesus Church located at 1555- 39th Ave, San Francisco, CA 94122, with internment to follow immediately after mass at Holy Cross Cemetery in Colma, CA.

I'm sorry for the loss of your mother. I called her last Christmas and her line was disconnected so I knew that something had happened. I'm sorry I missed the service on Friday but I was thinking of her all day. I was hoping to see both of you but at my age of 89 it's hard for me to get around.
Love,
George & Cora Yano
