Ray's leadership in non-violent dispute resolution has inspired me from the days when I volunteered at Community Boards of San Francisco. When my husband and I joined the Peace Corps, I was excited to re-connect with him in Bulgaria, one of the countries that benefited from the expansion of his ideas to the international arena as a Partners for Democratic Change location. I recently met an executive from Citizens for Global Solutions and asked if he knew Ray since the work seemed related. Not only did he know him, but reacted as if I'd mentioned a founding father, which I had. He has left a wonderful legacy. My condolences to his family and friends.
