Agnes Healy

Agnes Bridget Healy Born on February 22, 1917 and raised in San Francisco, Agnes was the daughter of James and Mary Ellen Collins both Irish immigrants. She died peacefully on October 19, 2010 at the age of 93. A long time resident of Novato, Agnes retired to Nazareth House in San Rafael thirteen years ago. Her beloved husband, John Renville Healy, her cherished grandson, Jason David Sneed and her loving son-in-law Tory Ceschi preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughters Jeraldine "Jerri" Ceschi of Corte Madera, Elaine Dengler and husband Martin of Santa Rosa, Judith "Judy" Merrion and husband, Lawrence of Concord, twelve grandchildren, twenty three great grandchildren, one great, great grandson and many, many nieces and nephews. She loved every member of her large family and was always interested in their lives. She made friendships that lasted a lifetime. Agnes attended St. Peter's elementary school, Everett Junior High and graduated from Mission High School. She worked at Postal Telegraph before her marriage and later worked for the City of San Francisco using her bookkeeping and accounting skills to help balance their yearly budget. For many years a member of Our Lady of Loretto Catholic church in Novato her faith was quiet but deep and strong. She had an interest in biblical history and enriched her knowledge by studying with BSF, the Bible Study Fellowship of Novato and San Rafael for many years. An excellent athlete she played basketball, hiked and was an amazingly beautiful swimmer having taught herself at Sutro baths and ocean beach. She loved the forty niners and never missed a game. Agnes was beautiful inside and out, elegant, wise, witty, gentle and loving. A special thanks to the Sisters of Nazareth. The community that they have created at Nazareth House has been home to our Mom for many years and made her happy. Also, sincere thanks to the staff and nurses of both Nazareth House and Hospice by the Bay for their care, prayers and loving concern.
