Agnes Yuen Obituary

Agnes Heong Yuen In loving memory of Agnes Heong Yuen, who peacefully passed away of a brief illness on Friday, September 3, 2010. Agnes was born in 1918 in Toishan County, China. In 1929 she and her family immigrated to S. F. She had four brothers and three sisters Henry, Helen, Paul, Stanford, Rose, Bette, and Lawrence. Henry, Helen, Paul and Stanford preceded her in death. Her greatest love of her life was her family, which included her husband, Ying Yuen, who she married in 1945 who preceded her in death in Jan 2000, her sons, David and Clifford (Anna), her grandchildren, Tim (Kim), Chris (Anita), and Erica, and her great grandsons, Tyler and Toby. She was a familiar face on Grant Avenue in the early years, where she worked at Kwong Hang Importing/Exporting Co. and later at Manley Produce in 1952 until she retired in 1982. Many of her customers became her long-time friends. She will be remembered and dearly missed for her kindness, generosity, sacrifices, and devotion to her family. A wake will be held on Friday, Sept. 10th at 7 pm and a funeral services on Saturday, Sept. 11th at 1:30 pm at McAvoy OHara Co., Evergreen Mortuary, Geary Blvd. @ 10th Ave. S. F. Burial will be at Hoy Sun Memorial Cemetery, Colma. In lieu of flowers, the Yuen family requests that donations may be made in her memory to Coming Home Hospice, 115 Diamond St., SF, 94114.
