Bernard Dabbene Obituary

Fr. Bernard Dabbene A Salesian of St. John Bosco, died Thursday, September 9th, at Alma Via, San Francisco, at the age of 73. Born in San Francisco, January 9th, 1937, his childhood years were spent in North Beach, in the shadow of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Parish. In those years his neighborhood was predominantly Italian families of recent immigrants from Italy. His years of Salesian priestly ministry in the field of education as teacher and administrator were spent in several Salesian high schools in northern and southern California. His most notable pastoral experience was as Pastor of Corpus Christi Church, San Francisco, from 1993 to 1999. Bernard Dabbene is survived by his sister, Barbara Standifer; her three sons: Jason, Derek & Chad, and their families. Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, September 14, 2010, after 6:00PM and are invited to attend the Vigil Service, also on Tuesday, at 7:00PM, and the Funeral Mass on Wednesday, September 15th at 10:00AM, all at Corpus Christi Church, 62 Santa Rosa Ave., San Francisco. Committal to follow at Salesian Cemetery in Richmond at 1:30PM.
