Berthe Allen

Berthe Susan Marcelle Allen Passed away peacefully Nov. 1, 2010 at the age of 90. Born March 24, 1920 in Esch-sur-Alzette, Luxembourg, she was the daughter of the late Jean Baptiste and Marie Linster Schmit, both of Luxembourg. Beloved wife of the late Lieutenant Commander William W. Allen. A committed patron of the Arts, Marcelle loved dogs and deeply supported the Humane Society. She was a devoted Native of Luxembourg and an honorary member of Veterans of the Battle of The Bulge Organization. She was skilled in embroidery and sewing and made all of her own clothing. She is survived by her step sons Timothy W Allen and Leslie J Allen and his wife Denise; grandsons Timothy Allen and Matthew Allen, her good friend Josette and her many other wonderful friends. Marcelle will be sadly missed by all who new her. Special thanks to Martha and Mayra for their devoted care. An interment at the Presidio, San Francisco National Cemetery will be held on November 19, 2010 at 10:00 am.
