Bonita Mette Obituary

Bonita Delores Mette (February 7, 1935-September 7, 2010), born in Salt Lake City, Utah, died in Berkeley, California after a long illness. Bonnie was the daughter of Bryan Herbert Mette and Ebba Marie Hansen, third of four sisters (Rosemarie, Phyllis and Marlene), mother of Tancie Mett and Kimi Sakashita (Naomi), grandmother to Aaron Mett, Justin Hesse (Alla), Dannielle and Erica Schapiro-Sakashita. Bonnie was an original, unconventional and ingenious woman, a good cook, a loving grandmother and the matriarch of a rainbow family. She was a hardworking single mother, supporting her daughters and herself by waitressing. Bonnie's family is grateful for the loving care she received during her last years at Elmwood Nursing Home. A private memorial service will be held. In lieu of flowers, the next time you dine out, please leave a generous tip."

I am Phyllis's daughter Sandy. Our family offers our deepest sympathy on the death of your mother. Her picture is one mom has in her photo collection. Even though Phyllis and Bonnie had not seen each other for many years my mom often talked about Bonnie. Mom is 87, widowed for 14 years and is residing currently in a skilled nursing facility. Thank you for placing the obituary in the Salt lake paper.
