Bruno Mauro Bon vivant, gallerist and curator Bruno Jean Mauro died May 15, 2012 at home surrounded by his family and friends. Born August 27, 1958 in Oran, Algeria to Jean Mauro and Josette Campos, Bruno came to San Francisco in his early twenties and fell in love with the city and his wife of 26 years, Surma, with whom he had three children, Theodora, Saskia and Raphael. Bruno's inimitable passion expressed itself in a love of art and the unbeaten paths of contemporary culture. A student of the world who reveled in refinement and grit, Bruno launched the careers of scores of artists both here and in Europe. Bruno is survived by his wife and children, his father and his brother, Alain Mauro and family. Husband, father, friend, mentor, co-conspirator; Bruno will be deeply missed. Services will be held at 1:30 pm, May 20th at Saint Gregory's Church, 500 De Haro Street, San Francisco.
