Carmel was received into the open arms of Our Lord and entered into rest peacefully at home, in San Rafael, with her loving family by her side.

She is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Marble Gallagher, her son, Ross Kevin Marble, her grandson, Matthew Gallagher McGovern and her son-in-law, Peter John Gallagher.

Carmel was born in San Francisco, CA, as the middle child of John Thomas Gallagher and Myrtle Mollett Gallagher. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ross C. Marble of Tacoma, Washington, her son, Francis (Frank) Mollett Marble, her sister, Mary Aileen Gallagher Ewing and her brother John Mollett Gallagher.

She was very proud to be a second generation native San Franciscan. Carmel was a graduate of St. Rose Academy High School and Lone Mountain College for Women in San Francisco. She moved to San Rafael with her son in 1988 to be closer to her daughter, and only grandchild.

Carmel enjoyed her weekly lunches with her sister on Clement St., the Chronicle, See's candy and a good Old Fashioned without bitters.

She was an avid volunteer, devoted to her causes. Lifetime member of The Mt. St. Joseph's-St. Elizabeth Auxilary and The Little Children's Aid Society where she recently received an award honoring her fifty years of service. She was a volunteer at St. Mary's Hospital and The Little Sisters of the Poor, St. Anne's Home in San Francisco.

Carmel was a woman of great faith and is the last of her generation. She leaves this world as a cherished Mother and treasured Nana. We will miss her dearly but are inspired for her example. It is with broken hearts that we say goodbye and we will carry her precious memory with us forever. We love you.
