Daniel Christopher Cotter, 61, entered into rest on June 20, 2013 in Sacramento; he was born in San Francisco on December 16, 1951 to Richard and Kathleen (McDonnell) Cotter. Daniel attended St. Paul's Grammar School and was a graduate of the Arch Bishop Riordan High School, class of 1970. Dan served in the US Army and was a proud Veteran of the US Armed Forces. Dan was an avid Giants and 49ers fan. He loved giving tours of San Francisco to his nieces when they were younger. He was dearly loved and will be missed by all.
Dan is survived by his siblings, Kathleen Goe (Kevin), Fr. Vincent Cotter and Richard Cotter (Carol); nieces, Siobhan Goldsworthy, Deirdre Goe, and Mary Ellen Goe; nephews, Kevin Goe Jr. and Christopher Cotter; grandniece, Grace Goldsworthy and grandnephew, Sean Goldsworthy; many cousins in the Bay Area, Ireland and England. He was also a 32 year friend of Bill W. Dan was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Kevin Cotter.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00PM, Tuesday, June 25, 2013 with a Vigil Service at 7:00PM at Ouimet Bros. Concord Funeral Chapel, 4125 Clayton Road, Concord. Funeral Liturgy will be at 1:00PM, Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at St. Paul's Catholic Church, 221 Valley St. & Church St., San Francisco, CA.
Interment will be in Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, Dixon, CA.
The family appreciates memorials in Dan's memory to any Disabled American Veterans Organizations, St. Paul's Church of San Francisco or to St. Agnes Church of Concord.
