Donald Kaskey Obituary

Donald Kent Kaskey Don was born and raised in Iowa, the oldest of three children. After business school, he enlisted in the Air Force and was stationed in Texas, Wyoming, Iceland and California. Later, he worked in the hotel industry in Sacramento and San Francisco. Don married his wonderful wife Eloise and they shared 38 years of marriage together. He was a proud father of two children, Michael and Jennifer and their families. Don loved history and country/bluegrass music. He enjoyed watching sports, listening to AM radio broadcasts around the world, playing computer games, and walking with friends on Friday afternoons at Stow Lake.
Don is survived by wife Eloise, sister Karyl (Duane), brother Bob, son Michael (Jenny) daughter Jenny (Scott), and grandchildren Kaylie, Matthew, and Lauren.
Don will be remembered for his smile, love, and sense of humor.
Family and friends are invited to a memorial service on Sat, March 2nd at 4:00pm at Broadmoor Presbyterian Church, 377 87th St. Daly City, CA 94015.

Blessings to Don's family and friends as we morn his passing. Rest assured that Don is now in a wonderful place, in the full presence of God and enjoying the company and friendship of family and friends who entered the gates of Heaven earlier than him.

Don was an enthusiastic DXer [a DXer is a radio hobbyist who enjoys the challenge of receiving very weak radio signals - sort of like the bird watcher who spots a rare bird] of the medium wave [standard AM radio band] and fellow radio DXers will understand what I'm about to say - now Don has superb dx reception with absolutely no noise, no interference. God has blessed you Don, and may God bless your family and friends.

I knew Don through the ABDX online radio DX group. While I never had the pleasure of meeting Don face to face, I enjoyed exchanging delightful email messages with Don about radio and radio DXing over the last 8 or so years.

Don, may you R.I.P. A real gentleman, and very keen AM radio DXer. I always enjoyed his very accurate and detailed loggings of stations he heard. We emailed back and forth from time to time about each others' loggings. He'll be very much missed by the DX community.
