Don Sisk passed away in his sleep on March 21,2013. Don was born and raised in Madison, Wisconsin. After serving in the Navy during WWII, he settled in Berkeley where he graduated from U.C. Berkeley. Don met and married Mary Gibson at St. John's church in Berkeley in 1954.
Don was an elementary school teacher for the West Contra Costa School District. Over the course of his life he was active in the community through various organizations. His primary community involvement was with Boy Scout Troop 6. He participated in the troop for over 60 years.
After retiring from teaching, Don continued to teach as a substitute. To his great pleasure, Don was able to travel to many of the far away places of his childhood dreams. He was a great dad. He will be missed.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate his life at the Unitarian Church, 1 Lawson Rd in Kensington on Saturday June 22, from 11:30am to 2:30pm. Bring your memories to share.
