Edmond Jack Obituary

Edmond "Ted" Jack 1931-2011 Ted Jack passed away in the presence of his family on Sunday January 2, 2011. Ted lived a long and wonderful life, the last three years of which were made especially delightful by his relationship and eventual marriage to Ann Levy. Ted is survived by his wife Ann and her daughter Greta; his son John, wife Susan and daughters Jennifer, Kendall and Lynnie; his daughter Sandy; and, his son Brad and children Sam, Olivia, Katherine and Will. Ted also enjoyed a 40 year marriage to his late wife Dorothy, who predeceased Ted in 2006. Ted and Dorothy's daughter, Lauren, predeceased both. Ted is also survived by Lauren's daughter Rebecca. Ted was born in Salt Lake City but moved to San Francisco early in his childhood. He grew up in Polk Gulch and made lifelong friends with the "Polk Gulch Boys". Ted graduated from Washington High School and had a long career as a member of Retail Clerks working in the produce industry. Ted especially enjoyed his time with his "River Rats" friends - spending time at the Russian River, playing golf, going on cruises and sharing many other adventures. The last 22 years of his life were also special in his commitment to living one day at a time and his relationship with his close friends at the Forum. Ted will be fondly remembered by the many friends that he made during his life. His friends and family were the two most important things to him. Family and friends are invited to a luncheon celebration of Ted's life on Thursday, January 20th, 2011. RSVP by leaving a message at Ted's residence, or with John, or send email to [email protected]">[email protected]">[email protected]">[email protected]. Donations to the SPCA or the American Lung Association will be appreciated in lieu of flowers.

The best of the best. We will miss Ted with all our hearts. Mike met Ted many years ago through a mutual friend, Leo, the bartender at Lefty O'Douls. We happily renewed that friendship about five years ago through another mutual friend, Bill W. Our city is less one classy guy with the loss of Ted Jack.

The authentic, sincere love and support that I received from Ted and Dorothy is without comparison. They were solid examples to me of how to live and the transformative power of love. They will always be in my heart and I will always remember their courage and care, love, kindness and strength. Sorry to hear Ted is gone and hope I can learn to live and love as well as he. God Bless all the Jack children, grandchildren and wife Ann. With love and gratitude....tricia kelly carlin
