Elizabeth Bonner Obituary

Elizabeth Bopp Bonner 2/10/1915-11/26/2010 Betty died peacefully in her sleep at age 95. A long time resident of Piedmont CA, she attended Piedmont High School where she was Ladies Tennis Champion. She later became an avid golfer at Claremont Country Club. Betty was a member of Hill Jr. Branch of Children's Hospital and volunteered for many years at Summit Medical Center. She loved music and poetry but her garden was her sanctuary. Betty was the family genealogist. A quiet beauty, she was the voice of reason, the face of compassion and as perfect a mother as any girl could have. Betty is survived by her daughters, Suanne Inman and Joanne Palamountain, four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Her husband of 60 years, John (Jack) Bonner, preceded her in death. A private family service will be held. Memorial contributions may be sent to Children's Hospital & Research Center, PO Box 2054, Oakland CA 94604 or the charity of your choice.

Suanne and Joanne - I was sorry to see that you lost your mother. She was a lovely woman, and I'm glad that my Mom and I were able to meet her a few times, and spend some time with her. She seemed like a very dedicated and caring person. We also lost our Mom, Eileen Gilliland, on September 1 of this year, so I can empathize. Our mothers both lived big, long, and active lives, but it is never long enough!!
