Elizabeth Mayer Obituary

Elizabeth A. Mayer 55, passed away in Daly City on October 30, 2010. Liz was born to the late Vladimir and Benedetta Kostevich in San Francisco and raised in Daly City her entire life, graduating from Westmoor High School. She spent many years working in various coffee shops in the Westlake area thus knowing and befriending the entire community. Everywhere we went in Daly City someone knew her! Fondly known as "Grandma Liz", she had an amazing love for people and animals. Her passion was making special treats and passing them out to all the neighborhood children. She had a sparkling personality and an incredible heart. She loved all types of music as her father was a classical pianist. She adored watching her granddaughter dance and her grandson play baseball. She loved going to Nevada to take in the splendor of the mountains and rivers. Her favorite ride at Disneyland was Splash Mountain! Liz will be truly missed by all who love her, especially her daughter Samantha and her son in law Rodney, her grandchildren Alexa and Rodney Jr, her significant other Steve, her brother and sisters, Anna (Tom), Luda, and Dimitri (Debbie), her adoring nieces and nephews Wes (Stephanie), Craig (Jamie), Kim (Jay), Dana, Danielle, Jared, Hayden, Nick, Aubrey, and Mitchell, and her beloved pets Angel, Mufasa, and Harley. Friends and family are invited to a Memorial Mass in her honor at St. Stephen Church, 451 Eucalyptus Dr, San Francisco, CA, 94132, on Saturday, November 13th at 2:00 p.m.

The time goes so fast I can't believe that you have been gone so long Liz. Every time I pass the Westlake center I think about you. Reading all about your pets I still remember "Lucky" which takes me back to the 1980''s" God Bled and rest in peace.

My deepest condolences to the Martinez & Kostevich families. I've known Liz since I was a teenager. I was very fortunate to have recently spent a wonderful afternoon with Liz at our neighborhood block party. I had no idea that we lived around the corner from each other. She was able to tell me about all of the people from our youth & what they were doing now. She talked about how much she loved the daycare & all the kids. Mostly, she talked about her wonderful daughter & son-in-law and her much-loved grandchildren. Oh, and the dogs!! She felt very blessed.
Rest in Peace, Liz.
