Ethel Howard

Ethel Lee Howard Passed away peacefully Tuesday morning November 2, 2010 in her San Francisco home. She was a very loving, caring and kind person. Ethel was born in White Castle, La. She and her late husband, Samuel and stepdaughter Willie Mae moved to Vallejo, Calif. in 1942. They relocated to San Francisco in the early 1950's. Ethel was a devout Catholic and joined Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she became active in many auxiliaries. Ethel was employed at the Emporium for a number of years. In addition, she was a cosmetologist and a life long member of the National Beauty Culturist League. Also, she was a member of the Fidel Amis Social Club. Ethel is survived by close friend and conservator Dolores Jones (Robert), best friend Nettie Backstrom, goddaughter, Donna Backstrom-Jones (Marvin), godson George Marshall, and extended family and friends. Services will be held on Monday, November 22, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Cypress Lawn, 1370 El Camino Real, Colma, Calif.
