Obituary Condolences

Eva M. Garibaldi

Beloved wife, devoted mother, loving Nonna and compassionate friend passed away on August 17, 2014 at age 92 years following a sudden illness. Born in Monsummano, Italy, a Tuscan mountain village above Florence, to the late Dina and Bruno Baldi, Eva came to live in the United States by way of Trails, British Columbia, Canada at age 5. When her parents received authorization to immigrate to the US, the family resided in Santa Cruz, then San Francisco, California. She graduated from Notre Dame High School in San Francisco and earned her beautician license before becoming the gentle and warm homemaker she was for over 50 years.
Eva married Bennie Garibaldi (deceased) in 1944 and raised three sons, Raymond, Ronald, and Larry in South San Francisco, California. The delights of her life multiplied when they came to marry. Her most precious role of life as Nonna was firmly established with the birth of each grandchild. Eva is survived by her sons, Raymond (spouse Denise), Ron (Donna), Larry (Jill), grandchildren Raymond Jr. (Becky), Joe (Michelle), Veronica, great grandchildren, Tasha, Eva, Ben, and Dean Garibaldi, and niece Dina. She also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews. Eva is predeceased by her brother, Dino Baldi, and grandson, Robert Garibaldi. Long and fondly remembered will be her unending love, gentle caring, tenderness, calm demeanor despite anxiety, cooking pasta, and baking of chocolate chip cookies and apple pies.
Family and friends may visit after 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, August 21, 2014 and attend the 6:00 PM Vigil service at CHAPEL OF THE HIGHLANDS, 194 Millwood Dr. at El Camino Real in Millbrae. The Funeral will leave the Chapel on Friday, August 22, 2014, 11:30 AM and process to All Souls Catholic Church, 315 Walnut Avenue in S. San Francisco where the funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 Noon. Interment will follow the services at the Italian Cemetery in Colma. In lieu of flowers, the Robert M. Garibaldi Memorial Fund, 114 Pelican Lane, Novato, CA 94949, appreciates donations.
