Evelyn Frances Shaw

EVELYN FRANCES SHAW 12/14/1937 - 8/29/2010 "Nona" left us peacefully on 8/29/10 in San Francisco after a long and feisty battle with stage four lung cancer. Evelyn passed away in her beloved San Francisco where she was proudly born and raised. She is predeceased by her parents Arthur Shaw and Katherine Ross. She is survived by her brother, Frank Shaw of Petaluma, her beloved best friend Buzzy and numerous close friends. Evelyn will be especially missed by Marilyn and her children, Julian, Gabriel and Marcelo, who adoringly and affectionately considered her their Nona. Evelyn attended St. Paul's High School in San Francisco and went to work in the book binding industry. She remained happily retired in San Francisco until her passing. She was an engaging soul with a quick wit and pleasing sense of humor. She always enjoyed a good time with good friends and never declined a party invitation! Evelyn expressed an opinion about anything that was discussed and was always eager to share that opinion with whoever would listen. Her laugh was infectious and her loyalty was undying. She is a person who will always be remembered by the people who loved her and who appreciated her kindness and support. Family and friends would like to thank the medical staff at San Francisco General Hospital for their kind and professional care during Evelyn's final journey. In accordance to Evelyn's wishes, a Celebration of Her Life will be held at 245 Chattanooga St., San Francisco on 10/30/2010 from the hours of 2 to 6 pm.
