Faustin Mazeris Obituary
Faustin passed away peacefully in Petaluma, CA after a long illness. Born in Esquiüle, France, he was the son of Charles Mazéris and Marie Luro Mazéris. He was preceded in death by his brothers Jean-Pierre and Germain and his sister Jeannette. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne, his daughter Michèle, his son Daniel, and his grand-daughter Juno Sophia as well as his sisters Maryse Cogi and Madeleine (Michel) Macé and also nieces Martine, France, Pascale and Isabelle; and nephews Patrick and François. After immigrating to New York, he made his home in San Francisco, where he ran a downtown tavern with his business partner Bernard Mirandette. He was a member of the Basque Cultural Center. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the wonderful staff at the Oaks in Petaluma for the excellent and loving care Faustin received during his entire stay. Many thanks also to Hospice by the Bay for their kind and attentive presence during his last months. Friends are invited to attend the Vigil Thursday, Sept 9, at 6:30 PM followed by the Funeral Mass at 7 PM at Notre Dame des Victoires. Committal Services at Holy Cross Cemetery will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Notre Dame des Victoires Church, 566 Bush St. San Francisco, CA 94108, or Hospice by the Bay, 17 E. Sir Francis Drake Blvd., Larkspur, CA 94939.
