Florence Posedel |
A native of San Francisco passed away peacefully at CPMC hospital with her family and friends at her side on Wednesday March 20, 2013 at the age of 101 years. She was the beloved mother of her daughter Diane Pagani of Twain Harte, CA and her son Rhea Posedel of Belmont, CA. She also leaves behind four adoring grandchildren, James, Leslie and Stacey Pagani, and Natalie Posedel.
Florence graduated from Mission High School and soon after met her future husband. She was married to her loving husband Frank Posedel for almost 40 years. They experienced a wonderful life together, enjoying their time in San Francisco as well as traveling with their family. After raising their children, Florence and Frank enjoyed their cabin in the mountains at Twain Harte. Florence was a very social person who loved debating politics and had a passion for dancing.
After her husband died at the early age of 60, she continued to live in their house in San Francisco. She remained active and traveled to Europe with friends. She also became an active member in the Crocker Amazon Seniors Club.
In her later years, she shared her home with her grandson James Pagani, and with him became a dedicated fan of the S.F. Giants and 49ers. She frequently visited her grandson's and daughter's homes in Twain Harte. Florence had a healthy life and was always mentally sharp and physically independent.
Florence was very social and an extrovert. She always enjoyed being around family and friends as well as meeting new people. Last May she had a wonderful experience meeting and taking pictures with three S.F. Giants, Vogelsong, Bumgarner and Belt at the House of Prime Rib. They were true gentlemen to spend time with her during their meal.
Florence's energy, wit, humor and her love of people touched all who knew her. She will be missed.
Friends and family are invited to attend funeral services at Holy Cross Cemetery in Colma at 1:00 PM on Tues. March 26.
