Frank Chinn Obituary

Frank W. Chinn May 5, 1931 - Nov. 22, 2010 Frank W. Chinn passed away on Monday, Nov. 22, after a heart attack at his San Francisco home. He was 79. Mr. Chinn, the sixth of eight children, was born on May 5, 1931 in Oakland. His family relocated to Gilroy when he was a young boy. Mr. Chinn started ABC Cleaners in Gilroy with his brother, Hank, in the early 1950s. In 1964, he and his brother moved to San Francisco and opened Astro Cleaners at 730 Bush St. He sold the business about 20 years later and retired. In retirement he remained very active and became a dear and valued friend to many. He is survived by his three loving children: daughters Angela Woodbury and Fran Chinn and son Paul Chinn; two granddaughters, Zoë and Camille Woodbury; two brothers, James and Bill Chinn; two sisters, Rose Wong and Alice Tsang; and many nieces and nephews. A private burial will take place on Saturday, Dec. 4, at Hoy Sun Memorial Cemetery in Colma. The family requests that any memorial donations be made to On Lok Lifeways in San Francisco.
