Harry Sturgeon

Harry Sturgeon "This good man", as Harry Sturgeon was called by one of his best friends and the beloved husband of Mary Jasperson Sturgeon for nearly thirty years, passed away September ninth at Trinity Care Center in Penticton, BC. Harry leaves his sister Elizabeth McManis of Spokane, Washington and his three children; Alex Sturgeon, Carol Ellsworth and Katherine Sturgeon. Harry was born in 1931 in Palo Alto, California, where he grew up. He completed his undergraduate degree in Economics at Stanford University in 1955. He later went on for a Masters Degree and training at the University of California to become an Educational Psychologist. Harry worked in public schools and later with his wife Mary in her non-profit clinic in Santa Cruz, California. In 1988, they moved to set up practice together in Duncan, British Columbia, where they worked until moving to Naramata, BC in 2002. Harry met all difficulties privately and with extraordinary courage.
