Helen Valencia Obituary

Helen A. Valencia Died at home on July 16, 2010, five weeks after being diagnosed with a brain tumor. Born in 1922 and raised in San Francisco, Helen graduated from Lowell High School and San Francisco State. She married Ronald Valencia in December 1944, and later settled in San Mateo where his dental practice was located. They moved to Menlo Park in 1959, where they remained for the rest of their lives. Helen is survived by her sister Dorothy, 5 children, 7 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Helen enjoyed tennis, reading and gardening. She knitted dozens of afghans for family and friends that will keep them warm for many years to come, She and her husband took their first trip to Europe in 1978 and they continued to travel the world for the next 25 years. The family extends its sincere thanks to Pathway's Hospice for their care and support.
