When I first heard of the tragic explosion in San Bruno, I was deeply saddened of the lives that were loss. I recall learning that a mother and young daughter had parish in the fire. I could not sleep well that night thinking about these two lives that were suddenly gone. At that time the names of the victims had not been released. I was extremely shocked to learn that Jackie was an alumni of SJU and then I remembered her-her smile, her curly hair, running into her in the hallways. My deepest and sincerest condolences to your family. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dear James and Gabriella: Although you do not know me, I had to express my deep sorrow for your loss. This must be just unbearable for you and your entire family. Your wife and daughter were just beautiful and my heart just achs when I see their picture. Just know that you will be reunited with them one day, and know that they will always watch over you. When I loss my Father, James Van Prague's book, "Talking to Heaven" really helped me. Believe me when I say that your wife and daughter will always be by your side. My prayes are with all of you--God Bless, Tina

To The Greig an Macedo Family,
You do not know me. But last Monday my husband sent me the link of the Obituaries and he mentioned to me that I should read it because it's important. As I opened it and reading the name of Jacqueline and Janessa. It hit me when I read that Jacqueline went to/graduated from SJU. I also went to that school graduated 1 year before Jacqueline did. My heart throbs for your great loss. Please know that you and your family are in my prayers, and may the good Lord will ease your pain and suffering during this most difficult time. You have 2 new Angels now, and they are looking down on you.

I can't imagine what you are going through. I met you and Jackie once at Alex and Arleen's Birthday party at Holas. She was the most vibrant person I have ever met. Janessa became friends with my niece over the summer during camp at S.I. My niece is crushed that she has lost her new friend. She said she will always remember her and the friendship they made over the summer. Their memories go on and will not be forgotten. Two special people who touched so many lives. Please know your family is in our thoughts and prayers.

To James and Gabriella,

You don't know me but I went to St. Peter's elementary school with Jackie. I knew there were fatalities but didn't know it was Jackie and Janessa until this past Monday, when a co-worker expressed her grief on a mom and daughter she knew had lost their lives in the San Bruno explosion. When she called me over to her desk so I could view their pictures my eyes filled with tears and I was in a state of shock as I recognized the woman as being Jackie Macedo. We lost contact after graduating from St. Peter's as we went to different high schools. Occasionally our paths crossed during our high school years. Though I lost contact with her over the years, I can still vividly remember Jackie with her curly hair, big brown eyes and beautiful smile. My heart aches for your loss. I can't even imagine the grief you are feeling. I am keeping you both in my thoughts and prayers during this agonizing time My sincerest condolenscences to you both.

Dear James and Gaby,

No words can describe the incredible anguish that we feel for both of you over the tragic news that took away Jacqueline and Janessa- the people you love so very much. We want to let you know that your family is always in our hearts and prayers. We feel for you, we cry with you, we pray with you, we regret with you, we question with you, and most of all, we forever think of Jacqueline and Janessa with you.

We will hold the loving memories of Jacqueline and Janessa, esp. for Caitlin who had the greatest honor of sharing wonderful times with them. We will never forget Jackie's kindness and loving ways, with her busy schedule, she would call me to let me know of the Gaby's and Caits's plans. With Jackie, it was never a question that Cait was in good hands. She made Cait feel special, her affection and generosity were naturally manifested in endless ways like serving delicious meals, offering words of encouragement, taking the girls to dances, movies, games, the mall, etc. Cait will always hold in her heart the friendship that she shared with Janessa. Cait will miss Janessa's affection, humor, energy, sweet smiles and generous hugs. In your family, Cait was one of you- and we are forever grateful and thankful for that.

Time cannot completely heal, words cannot completely heal, but hopefully through the love and support of family, friends, and strangers, you will be able to come through this very sad time.

James and Gabriella, my family and I are so deeply sorry for your loss. I saw a story about Jacqueline and Janessa on TV just now. They seemed like such lovely people. I know from personal experience the complexity of emotions that come with such loss, but what sustained me and I hope will help you is to know that the pain will pass. It doesn't seem like it right now. I know that it doesn't, but it will lessen over time. And in its place I hope you will find as sense of peace that helps us all be more compassionate for others because we, too, have been there. My sincerest condolences.

Thinking of you and your family during this time. It seems as though you and your daughter lived wonderful lives, and were taken too early from this Earth. This tragedy has taught me to live each day to its fullest. God Bless ~~~~<~~@

I recall having met Jacqueline and her oldest daughter years back when my kids were attending St. Cecilia and her oldest Gabriella was barely five; she was a genuine, warm and sweet person. I had the pleasure to have shared many conversations with her regarding the school, the parish and other things mothers love to share. My deepest sympathy to her husband, James and daughter Gabriella and the rest of the family. May the memories stay imprinted in your heart forever. Heaven is getting two angels that will be sorely missed by all. God bless all of you and may your faith sustain you through this trying times.
