Jeanne Therese Scanlon

Surrounded by her family and friends in her Sacramento home on March 16, 2013, Jeanne went to the Lord. She was the devoted daughter of Mary and the late Thomas Scanlon. She was the loving sister of Joanne (Denis) Driscoll and Margie (Kevin) Dineen. She was the cherished aunt of Tommy, Patrick and Claire Dineen; Mary and Theresa Driscoll. Jeanne is survived by her dear aunt and uncle Noreen and Jack Harrington. She was predeceased by aunts and uncles: John (Alice) Scanlon, Jim (Mary) Scanlon, Frank (Betty) Scanlon and Julia (Everett McKee). She is also survived by numerous cousins, friends and colleagues.

Jeanne was born on May 14, 1963. She was a native San Franciscan, but her home away from home these past 20 years was in Sacramento. Jeanne leaves her beloved "Sacramento Family" as well as a many cherished friends and colleagues. Jeanne also leaves her two Golden Retrievers, Katie Dee and Molly whom she adored and spoiled.

Jeanne graduated from St. Cecilia's Elementary School, Mercy High School, USF School of Nursing and received her graduate degree from UCSF. She was scheduled to receive her Doctorate of Nursing in Neurology in June 2013 from UCSF. She spent 28 years of dedicated service to neurology patients then became a victim of sporadic Crutzfeld Jakob Disease, a rare neurological disorder. Jeanne found joy in life's daily activities and encouraged others to do so, too. We will remember her keen Irish wit and her contagious laugh. Jeanne touched many lives with her generosity, thoughtfulness, intelligence, and loyalty. Her family wishes to thank all the physicians, medical staff, friends and colleagues for their love, compassion, concern, support and kindness.

We wish to express special appreciation and gratitude to our Harrington cousins for their loving care and devotion to Jeanne over these past few months.

Friends may attend the Rosary at 10:45 am followed by the Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, March 22, 2013 at St. Cecilia's Church, 17th Avenue and Vicente Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jeanne's memory to the Monsignor Harold E. Collins School Fund 2555-17th Avenue, San Francisco, CA 94116 or to a .
