Jeannette Collins

Jeannette Rita Collins July 24, 1921-December 3, 2010 Passed away on December 3rd at the age of 89. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Matthew William Collins, her parents, Harvey and Mary Sinclair, her daughter Jeanne Collins and her brother Frank Sinclair. She was the loving mother to, Gary Collins, Theresa Collins, Joanne Tighe, Kevin Collins and M. Joseph Collins. Jeannette was the devoted grandmother to, Theron Collins, Mark Tighe, Christopher Tighe, Paul Tighe and Samantha Collins. She also leaves behind her great grandchildren, Noah Collins, Jacob Tighe, Joshua Tighe, Aaron Tighe and Jonah Tighe. Jeannette was well loved and will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Jeannette was known for always being joyful and bringing laughter and happiness to everyone. Jeannette, a long time resident of the city and county of San Francisco grew up attending local boarding schools run by the Presentation Sisters in Gilroy, St. Joseph's in Berkeley and Presentation High School in San Francisco. She was a graduate of the Board of Cosmetology and was very involved in local organizations. She was a member of the Golden Girls, was past president of Holy Names Women's Club, was a member of the United Irish Cultural Center, volunteered regularly at the V.A. Hospital, volunteered at Holy Name of Jesus Church and was a Monday Lunch Bunch Member for over 30 years. Jeannette retired from Sears Roebuck after 28 years and was the coordinator of the annual Sears Christmas Event. Visitation for family and friends will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 9th at Holy Name of Jesus Church, 39th Ave., at Lawton Street, San Francisco. The Rosary will begin at 10:30 a.m. and the Funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. The Committal at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, 1500 Old Mission Road, Colma will follow the Mass. Donations may be made to the San Francisco Veterans Administration Hospital or the Eternal Word Television Network in memory of Jeannette Rita Collins.
