Jenny Eliopoulos Obituary

Jenny Paris Eliopoulos Jenny, a long-time resident of Daly City and St. Helena, Ca., passed away Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2010. She was 77. Beloved bride and best friend of 60 years to Andy Eliopoulos; cherished Mom to Peter & Janice Eliopoulos, Nick Eliopoulos and Andy & Lisa Eliopoulos; "Grandma Jenny" to Travis Johnson; proud and loving "YaYa" to Alexis, Andrew and Anthony Eliopoulos. Born and raised in St. Helena, she met the love of her life, Andy, while at college. She spent 20 years teaching elementary school in St. Helena and most summers traveling to Greece and other favorite places in Europe. After retiring in 1992, they spent their time participating in antique shows in the Bay Area, traveling and spending time with friends and family. Always busy with her creative endeavors, Jenny knitted, painted porcelain and opened JAE's Gifts and Collectibles, a small gift shop in Burlingame. She finally retired in 2004 to fully enjoy her most fulfilling and joyful role as "YaYa". Friends and family are invited to the Trisagion (visitation) on Monday, Sept. 27 at 7:00pm at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 999 Brotherhood Way, San Francisco. The Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday, September 28 at 11:00am at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, followed by interment at the Greek Orthodox Memorial Park, Colma. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to California Pacific Medical Center Foundation or Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. Whether she met you in her many travels or on the sports field at her grandchildren's games, Mom's warmth and loving nature touched us all. She will be missed.

I was a teacher at St.Helena Elementary school with Jenny. In fact our classrooms were right next door to each other She and I had many pleasant conversations and experiences there. I will always remember her baklava treats. I always admired Jenny for her kindness ,love for her family and her style and impeccable clothing. She was a beautiful woman and a true friend to me. I will miss her friendship.
