John Carter Klobuchar |
Passed away on September 4th in Danville, CA with his family by his side. He is now at peace with his wife of 40 years, Sharon (Plummer) whom he had mourned everyday since her death.
Born in Virginia, Minnesota on December 22, 1943. John grew up hunting and fishing in Minnesota's Iron Range with his dad, friends, nephews and nieces. During the summers, he built roads in Ely, MN off the Echo Trail. John joined the Navy out of high school and served in Vietnam aboard the US Aircraft Carrier Midway. He met his wife Sharon while in San Francisco. After the Navy, John worked for and retired from AT&T, where he started as a linesman climbing poles in Minnesota but worked his way up to be lead Network Architect Engineer in Silicon Valley after moving to California in 1978 during his ~40 year career. His colleagues referred to him as the "Encyclopedia of AT&T".
John was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be remembered for his dry sense of humor, his knowledge of computers and technology, and commitment to his family.
Besides his wife Sharon, John was also preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Ethel (Sund), brothers Harry (Lorraine), Kennard Klobuchar and sister in law Barbara Dollard. He is survived by sons John Patrick, Michael Joseph and daughter Mary Frances Stanek, daughter in laws Cynthia (John) and Georgette (Michael), son in law Gabriel, his sister Caroline Anderson (Bill) and brother Jerry (Judy) Klobuchar. Brother and Sister in laws Bill and Deanne Willers, Ed Dollard, Frank and Gail Defoe, Fred and Judy Karlsen. Grandchildren John Michael, Hannah Rose, Noah Stephen (John and Cynthia), Nicole Elizabeth ( Michael and Georgette), Kasey Lorraine, Carter James and Nolan Patrick ( Mary and Gabriel) as well as dozens of nephews and nieces.
The family would like to thank the caregivers who assisted him in his last months.
