John Evans Suhr November 25, 1931 - April 12, 2012 John Evans Suhr died peacefully at his home in Tiburon, CA. He was born and raised in Piedmont, California to Sumner MacFarlane Suhr and Eunice Evans Suhr, along with his sister Sallie. John attended Piedmont High School and then went on to graduate from the University of California, Berkeley. While at Cal John was a member of the Zeta Psi (Lota Chapter) fraternity. He loved participating in many sports such as basketball and pole vaulting. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard for two years. John had a long career in the brokerage business and retired in 2005 from A. G. Edwards & Sons San Francisco office. John loved fly fishing, Cal Sports and the San Francisco Giants, as well as spending time with family and friends. He spent a portion of every summer in Montana doing what he loved the most, fly fishing. He also had a talent for making friends wherever he went. John is survived by his wife Vergie Suhr, his children Laura Marx, John Suhr Jr., and Sarah Charolotte Suhr, as well as their spouses. He is also survived by his grandchildren Justin and Charlotte Marx, William and Lassen Suhr, as well as loving nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. John will be truly missed by us all. There will be a private memorial held in Carmel, California.
