John Fleming Obituary

John Thomas Fleming passed away November 27, 2011 at his home in Genoa, Nevada. John was born September 25, 1941 in San Francisco, the beloved son of the late Jack and Mary Fleming. He attended St. Emydius grammar school, Riordan High School, the University of San Francisco and received a Masters Degree from Golden Gate College. He served his country, achieving the rank of Captain in the army. He had a distinguished career in golf as a Superintendent and architect, leaving a long legacy of golf course superintendents whom he had mentored. John loved to celebrate life and to pass on his Irish heritage through stories and songs with his family. He is survived by his wife Nan, children Peter, Michael and Katie, daughter-in-law Brandy, grandchildren Jessica, Jack and Cole, and sisters, Patricia Walsh and Maureen Woods. A private service was held in Nevada. For those who would like to pay their respects, there will be a celebration of John's life held on Sunday, December 11, at the United Irish Cultural Center of San Francisco from 5 to 9 P.M.
