Josephine "Jo" Kelly passed away peacefully at her home in Windsor on February 21, 2013 surrounded by her loving children. She was born on July 27, 1923 to Ralph and Dosola Mazzotti in Occidental, attending Meeker Grammar School and Tomales High School. She met and married her husband Charles Kelly, a native San Franciscan in 1948. They moved to the San Francisco Sunset District where they raised their family. She was an active member of Holy Name Parish. Following Charley's untimely death in 1962, Josephine began her career in food service with the San Francisco Unified School District. She retired in 1989 and moved that year back to Sonoma County to be near her children and family.

These years were spent building many new memories and forming many new friendships while watching her many grandchildren and great grandchildren grow. She enjoyed playing games and cards and tending to her small garden. Her days were filled with volunteering time at her Church whenever needed, visiting her many friends and reminiscing the "Occidental Days" with her relatives. Her true passion was cooking for others and she was a wonderful cook. We will always remember and miss the many wonderful meals she prepared for family and friends from "Jo's Kitchen".
Josephine is survived by her three children, Barbara Regina (Al), Nancy Wheeler (Mark), Kevin Kelly and daughter in law Kathleen Kelly. Cherished grandmother of eight and great grandmother of four, Kelli Green (Sophia and Nolan) and Michael Ehrlich (Autumn and Julien), Shannon, Laura, Charlie, Angeline Kelly, Erica and Matthew Wheeler. Josephine was also preceded in death by her parents Ralph and Dosola Mazzotti and loving brothers Ralph and Bruno Mazzotti. She is survived by her sister Elizabeth Mazzotti. She is also survived by her many loving nieces and nephews and extended family who meant so much to her.
Loyal, consistent and always a lady, Josephine will be remembered for her lifetime generous influence that she had on her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, family and friends. There is joy in heaven today as she is reunited with her husband and all that have gone before her.
