Josephine Powers Obituary
Josephine S. Powers

Mom passed peacefully into Gods hands on March 6, 2013 surrounded by family. She was born the third child to Tom and Ellen Morgan December 31, 1925. Graduated from Star of The Sea Grammar School and High School, class of 43. Mom's greatest joy was marrying our father Bill in 1949 and bearing, raising and guiding us three boys: William (Diane), Thomas (Linda) and Stephen (Janine) and being Nani to T.J., Brian, Terese and Alysia.

She loved spending time at the Russian River since she was a child with family and friends and watching the waves come on to Ocean Beach. She is survived by her sister Mary McCarthy and cousins in the United States and Ireland. Preceded in death by her husband William, brothers Stephen and Thomas Morgan. Proud San Francisco native and member of St. Cecilia's Parish.

The family would like to thank Lily Brosnan, Lizzie Donohoe-Thorstad, Mary McGill, Janine Powers and Frank Charlton M.D. for all their help and devotion they provided our Mom.
In lieu of flowers or cards we suggest a memorial, in our Mom's name, to Sacred Heart High School, 1055 Ellis Street, San Francisco, CA 94109.There will be a celebration of her life starting with a vigil at Duggan's Serra Mortuary, 500 Westlake Ave., Daly City on Sunday March 10th at 7pm and a Catholic Funeral Mass at St. Cecilia's Church, 17th & Vicente, SF on Monday March 11th at 10 am followed by a burial at Holy Cross Cemetery next to her beloved husband Bill.

Rest in peace Mom, we love you, your devoted sons, Billy, Tommy and Stevie.
