Kevin Murphy

Kevin James Murphy Nov. 16,1990 - Oct. 20, 2010 Kevin Murphy was a gift. Born in San Francisco, he grew up in Los Gatos, CA, a deep, thoughtful and loving young man who was wise beyond his years. Kevin had an intellectual curiosity and philosophical outlook that drew him to a particular love of the arts, music and literature. He was a gifted writer whose letters, poems and essays touched many. Kevin was a graduate of Los Gatos High School and was currently living and working in San Luis Obispo. He loved exploring the world, seeking new experiences through travels to Egypt, London, Rome and Munich. He enjoyed playing the guitar and hiking the mountains around Santa Cruz and Lake Tahoe. Kevin was the beloved son of Laurie and Jeffrey Brigham, Monte Sereno, and Cathy Cannata and James Murphy, San Francisco. Cherished brother of Jack Murphy, Beau and Brandon Brigham, Bridget, Teressa and Joe Cannata (Liza) and Chelsea Cherin (Mike). He is survived by his loving grandparents, Wendell and Dale Mattson, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved him dearly. Kevin will be deeply missed by all who knew him and whose lives were touched by his luminous spirit. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service Tuesday, October 26, 2:00 pm at the University of Santa Clara Chapel, 500 El Camino Real, Santa Clara, CA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Greenpeace.
