Kevin Berry Rogers |
COLUMBIA Kevin Berry Rogers, 46, died peacefully at home on June 11, 2013, after a courageous 18-month battle with gastric cancer.
Kevin is survived by his father and stepmother, Ron and Hannah Rogers of Columbia; by his mother, Frances Rogers of Los Angeles, Calif. and his paternal grandmother, Pauline Rogers of West Columbia. He was predeceased by his fiancee', Jill Boggini. Kevin leaves behind family and friends around the world. We will all miss his smile, his warmth and his good nature.
Kevin was a long time resident of San Francisco, Calif. where he was employed for 15 years as the Flyman for the San Francisco Ballet. He loved his job and the people he worked with, and he saw much of the world with the Ballet.
Kevin enjoyed many outdoor sports including golf, biking, snowboarding and surfing. He was an avid fly fisherman, and especially enjoyed fishing for trout in Alaska and Montana, and for steelhead in northern British Columbia.
After his cancer diagnosis, Kevin relocated to the New York area so that he could be treated at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. He recently moved to his parent's home in Columbia.
The family would like to thank the kind and compassionate people from Palmetto Health Hospice who have cared for Kevin in Columbia. We would also like to thank Charles Rodoson who has been an extraordinary caregiver for Kevin.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the San Francisco Ballet, 301 Van Ness Avenue, San Francisco CA 94102 or to Palmetto Health Hospice, PO Box 7275, Columbia SC 29202-7275.
