Born in San Francisco, California, January 12, 1953, died November 16, 2013, in Oakland, California. Lisa was the beloved daughter of the late Frank Devlin and Elizabeth Barbata Devlin and sister of Diana Heafey (Tom) and Frank Devlin (Nancy). Lisa was fond aunt to her four nephews, Michael (Nancy), William (Julie-Anne), and Brian (Jennifer) Heafey, Tad Devlin (Miranda), and niece, Leslie Devlin. She will be remembered as an affectionate grand-aunt by her four grand-nephews, Matthew, William, Luke, and John Heafey, and six grand-nieces, Madeleine and Charlotte Heafey, Tatiana Kaeo, Chloe Devlin, and Rebecca and Rachel Agpaoa.
Lisa was raised in San Francisco. She attended Mercy High School and studied at San Francisco State, Emerson College in Boston, and graduated from the University of Vermont. She received her masters degree in theater arts from the University of South Carolina. Lisa worked in theater productions in Connecticut and Maine before returning to San Francisco to work at the Opera Shop, the Ballet, and on various movies including "Mrs. Doubtfire", "James and the Giant Peach", and "Made in America". In all of these locations she made deep, lasting friendships. Lisa was known to her many friends as mischievous, fun-loving, loyal, and caring. She was devoted to her dog Zander, and was vitally interested in environmental concerns.
Lisa was wonderfully cared for by her relatives and friends from near and far, Paula especially was constantly beside her during her final weeks, and Lisa was never alone. Rest in peace, Lisa.
There will be a gathering in Lisa's memory on her birthday, January 12, 2014.

I too knew Lisa from Mercy and considered her one of the most creative, funny, caring, articulate, and engaging young woman of her time. How she and Renee Torres would clown around in theater and class. She was an inspiration. Bless you Lisa on your travel onward.

It was such a joy to get to know her, many stories and laughs were shared in the time I knew her. I always enjoyed the time with her and Paula. My thoughts are with her family and friends. She is missed, and we are all better for knowing her.

Lisa and I were close during our high school and college years and into the early 90's. After that, we pretty much lost touch, due to my moving around so much. I always enjoyed hearing about her achievements in the art world, as well as our "deep" philosophical conversations on a number of topics. One of my fondest memories was spending New Year's Eve with Lisa and her Dad on Kronquist Ct., listening to the top 100 pop songs of the year while, at the same time, discussing the serious affairs of the community and the world: 2 contrasting experiences merged into one delightful evening. I will truly miss her and her insight and vitality. I would very much like to attend the celebration on her birthday, if someone would share the when and where. Paula, I have never met you, but thank you for being there for Lisa!!!

So sorry for your loss Paula. I know she was very lucky to have you in her life. I'm very sorry she is no longer physically in yours, but I know she'll be carried with love in your heart. And that's a very good place to be.
Love and Peace to all who are missing her...

Lisa will always be remembered.
She lived her life with passion and commitment. She always knew how to egg me on and get me to step things up a notch. I am sure in the future when doing a project I will always wonder where Lisa would have lead me go with it. I miss talking to her everyday.
