Passed away on a Sunday in November 2013 at the age of 87.
She lived in El Cerrito with her loving husband, Peter. Lora was passionate about her gardening, reading mystery books, cooking, taking care of her family and enjoying close relationships with her friends.
The daughter of Wun Fun and Lee Shee, Lora grew up in the farming community of Lemoore, CA. and, along with her five siblings, developed a strong work ethic while helping to make her family's farm a success. Her siblings are John (dec), Jim (dec), Molly, Nellie, and Helen. She was proud of he birthplace, especially her high school where she played the trumpet in the school marching band. It was also in high school where she discovered her artistic talent in watercolors and oils.
Graduating from U.C. Berkeley with a business degree, Lora continued to San Francisco State to earn a Teaching Certificate. She briefly taught in the San Francisco school district, before leaving to raise a family with Peter in Berkeley. She is survived by her children Peter, Susan, David, and Janine; her grandchildren Peter, Jeffrey, Quincy, and Ian; and her many loving nieces and nephews.
Lora was a loving wife, wonderful mother, and a friend to many. She forever felt enriched by her family and friends. We will miss you so much.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a luncheon on Sunday, November 17, 2013. Her family may be contacted for further details.
