Barbara, so very sorry for your loss. Time will eventually heal some of the hurt and then the happy and sharing memories of your mom will fall into place. It's tough, but hang in there.

Dear Cousins,
I am sorry to hear of our Great Aunt Lupe's passing. I have nothing but fond and loving memories of your mom - she and your dad were a class act - people from another time. It was always a pleasure to visit you all and to gain another perspective into our Montoya family from my grandma's twin. All of my love and best wishes for this new year go out to you both. May the new year bring you peace and healing and may Lupe's light continue to shine on in both of you for many years to come.

Although we have never touched the same city at the same time, I feel that I have known you and Lupe for a very long time. I remember the cookie exchanges, the internet thang. I remember the luncheon where you introduced the group to the cell phone. and I still laugh.
May the light of the good times guide you through the next times.

In life and death, may peace be with you all at this time and always. I have such admiration for Barbara who so kindly and lovingly cared for Lupe for all of these years. I feel blessed to have visited Barbara and Lupe this past fall and it was such a priveledge to see what their relationship was like at the end. Lupe was very serene and seemed at peace. My love goes out even more to you all at this time. Lupe and Barbara, you have been in my thoughts and prayers and will continue to be on my heart and mind. May peace be with you, love j

From my growing up years I have fond memories of my Aunt Lupe & Uncle Henry & cousins Earl "Franco" & Barbara. I loved the anticipation of Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's & Easter when the family got together at our grandparents Montoya's home. It was such a treat to have cousins to visit with. Being an only child was not fun. Thankfully, Aunt Lupe, shared with me cousins to love & enjoy. Aunt Lupe & I were once about the same dress size, so she shared with me some of the nicest clothes I have ever owned when she got tired of them & handed them down to me as I grew into being an adult. My aunt was thoughtful, loving, kind, smart, outgoing, a great cook. Aunt Lupe never learned to drive, but she always managed to get to my wedding, my anniversary party/house warming, other family events & arrived looking pretty like she stepped out of a Macy's catalog page. She & Uncle Henry & my cousins have all been very loving toward my 3 sons when they came to my home or I went to theirs with my family. She was my last Aunt to leave this life, she will be missed & remembered as a blessing to my life.
