Dear Maria, I can't believe that you're gone. You were the first person I met from the evening division. You were a great friend and a great colleague. I wish you and I had a chance to talk again. We never did go out for ice cream as we both promised. My thoughts are with your family and friends. I will miss you... you will not be forgotten.

Oh Maria! What a friend you've been to me and so many others. You were always there for me, strong, reliable, loyal, making me laugh when all I could see was darkness, literally feeding me when I was too sad to feed myself. I hope you know how much I admired you, how very proud and inspired I am by your accomplishments. I feel lucky to have your friendship to carry with me always. Love ya Ria! Sheila

San Francisco will not be the same without you Maria. I have so many wonderful memories of the times we all spent together. Your generous nature and larger than life spirit are something I will miss terribly. You will always be in my heart.
