Mary Rose MacKerrow

Resident of Cupertino


Mary Rose MacKerrow passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at the age of 86 with her family by her side. Beloved wife of the late Donald E. MacKerrow. Preceded in death by her parents, Patrick and Mary Halligan. Born and raised in San Francisco, Mary Rose attended St. Monica School, Star of the Sea High School and Lone Mountain College.


She is survived by her loving children Stephen MacKerrow, M.D., Edward (Melinda) MacKerrow, Marie (John) Susa, Eileen (James) Sangster and Kathleen MacKerrow. She will be missed by her adoring grandchildren, Anna and Katherine Susa and Ryan Sangster. She is also survived by her loving brother, Patrick Halligan (Maydelle) of El Cerrito, and her loving niece and nephews.


Mary Rose was an avid reader, gardener, dog lover, and enjoyed playing bridge and getting together with her lifelong friends from San Francisco and the YLI group at St. Joseph of Cupertino. Mary Rose worked as an Enrolled Agent and was an active member of the Mission Society of Enrolled Agents.


She will always be remembered for her kindness, gentle spirit, warm smile, and beautiful blue eyes.


Family and friends are invited to attend a Rosary on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at 7:00p.m at LIMA & CAMPAGNA SUNNYVALE MORTUARY, 1315 Hollenbeck Ave., Sunnyvale. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, April 19, 2013 at 11:00a.m at St. Joseph of Cupertino Catholic Church, 10110 N. De Anza Blvd., Cupertino. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery at 22555 Cristo Rey Drive, Los Altos, CA.


Donations can be made in Mary Rose's name to Guide Dogs for the Blind, San Rafael, CA.
