Milton Wise Obituary

Reverend Milton Wise Of San Francisco, Ca was called home to be with the Lord on October 10, 2010. Rev. Wise was born June 9, 1915 in Longstreet, La to James and Janie Wise. He married Irma Johnson in 1939 and they moved to San Francisco where he worked as a Longshoreman and attended Bay College. In 1970 Rev. Wise was called to the St. Matthew Baptist Church of Oakland, Ca where he was pastor for 40 years. Rev. Wise is survived by 10 children, an adopted daughter, 32 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives. He was preceded in death by a son, Lanare Wise, and his beloved wife, Irma Wise. Friends may visit Friday, Oct. 15, after 10am and are invited to attend the Homegoing Celebration of Rev. Milton Wise, 11am (All) at Abyssinian Missionary Baptist Church, 528 33rd Street, Oakland. Burial to follow at Olivet Memorial Park, 1601 Hillside Blvd, Colma. To the Family oF Rev Milton Wise,
I am sending condolences filled with sorrow and great sadness on behalf of my family..Sister Odessa Perkins Franklin was a long time member of St. Matthews was my Grandmother.. She worked closely with Rev over the course of her life there in St Matthews..Rev Wise, was there from the day I was born..He Christened me and he and the whole church family were a part of our Family...He has fufilled what he was called here to do and has gone on home to be with the Lord he spoke so fondly of. In closing I just want to day we are truly sorry about the loss of Rev but he now has the pleasure of going home to be with the Lord he spoke so fondly of. To be reunited with family and church members who have gone on before him.....We love you all Sincerely---Tasha Myrna Vernell Jonte Serena and Rod (Odessa's surviving family)
