Morris Kadish Obituary
Morris Kadish

Died peacefully in his sleep on January 10, 2013 after a long and fulfilling life. He was born in Chicago on June 19, 1917 and raised in Los Angeles. He graduated from UC Berkeley in 1938 and served in the US Army, assigned to an air base in Newfoundland for much of World War II. After the war he moved to San Francisco, where he met his wife Ruth. They were married for 64 years until her death in 2011. He owned a painting contracting business, A Quandt & Sons, and was elected president of the San Francisco Builders' Exchange. After Morrie retired in 1977 he took up running and in 1981 completed the New York marathon. He loved the opera, had a remarkable eye for art, and enjoyed traveling throughout the world. He is survived by his son David, daughter and son-in-law Johanna and Bob Mandel, and grandchildren Aaron and Lisa Mandel. A private memorial is planned.
