Murl McKenzie entered rest on May 10, 2013. Beloved husband of Maggie McKenzie of 52 years; loving father of the late Lora McKenzie, Stacy Petroff, and Scott McKenzie; devoted son of Rosetta and the late Eddie McKenzie; brother of the late Betty Drago and late Leeford McKenzie; adored grandfather of Jenna McKenzie, Taylor Petroff, and Max Petroff; survived by many loving relatives and friends. A class of 1955 graduate of Balboa High School of S.F., Murl loved his family, playing golf, watching golf on TV and talking about golf. Murl also served his country as a Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corp prior to starting his thirty year career as a firefighter/Battalion Chief in So. S.F. where he made lifelong friends. Murl was very proud to serve his Country and to support and protect the citizens of So. S.F. Murl is loved and will be dearly missed by all. Friends and family are invited to attend a service Thursday, May 16th, 1:00 p.m., Garden Chapel, 885 El Camino Real, So. S.F. 94080, followed by a Celebration of Life gathering at the Elks Club, 920 Stonegate Drive, So. S. F.
