Nestor Makhno Obituary

Nestor Makhno November 24, 1947 -September 8, 2010. Of Ukrainian descent, he grew up in southern California until moving to Berkeley to attend University of California where he studied psychology and history of anarchism. He was profoundly moved by the plight of working people and the dispossessed, and he had a passion for social justice and activism, into which he integrated his strong sense of theater, fun, and play. He was a visionary whose unique analysis of both current and historical events was provocative and brilliant throughout his life. He was a self-taught photojournalist and art photographer. He was joined by his wife and life partner Liz in groundbreaking historical research uncovering the events behind the bombing of Dresden during WWII. His parents Herman and Etta and brother Larry preceded him in death, as did his much loved wife Liz. He is survived by his sister Doreen and many friends who will never forget him.

The word "death" applies only to such things as have a beginning, while Nestor, in Spirit, is eternal. Now unhampered by random thought and emotion, and so purely loving, we are one in God's heart.
