Patricia McBeath Obituary

Patricia Hegarty McBeath Died peacefully on November 18, 2010 at the age of 71 after a long illness with Alzheimer's disease. Patricia later lived in Sausalito for over twenty years, where she met her current husband in 1984, Jim McBeath. They lived the remainder of their years together in Sausalito, a place they both loved. She will always be remembered for her love of life, passion for cooking, entertaining, laughing with friends, and her sense of fun and adventure. She was also a loving and devoted grandmother who will be missed. Patricia is survived by her husband, Jim McBeath, her daughter Dana Hegarty and husband Jackson Ratcliffe, and her granddaughter, Elizabeth Ratcliffe.

I have so many great memories of Pat. We met via the insurance industry probably 15 years ago and were Sausalito neighbors too. I have vivid memories of seeing her daily in the early morning darkness along the Sausalito waterfront as I walked my dog and she happily marched to the ferry. I would often share a GG Transit bus ride home from San Francisco in the afternoons too and she would share stories of her beloved daughter, grand daughter, 'mona the cat' and her hopes to one day retire with Jim to the warmth of the palm springs desert -- all as we made our way north to Marin across the GG Bridge. I'm so sorry she never made it. She was so fun. I am happy to have known her and will never forget her.
