Ralph Bernard |
7/3/1930 - 3/27/2013
Ralph Bernard Rosenblum passed away March 27 in his birth place of Sydney, Australia. He was 82 years old. His children, Nicki and Phillip, along with step daughter Sasha, share his loss across the three continents that spanned his life.
Ralph was a man of classical tastes. His idea of an idyllic evening would be one spent in the company of one of the great composers, reading the world news, vodka martini firmly in hand.
He was a traditionalist who believed in dressing for dinner, wearing socks with shoes, and using dining utensils appropriately.
During his life, Ralph traveled extensively, taking up residence in Australia , Canada, England and the United States. He was an entrepreneur, always ready with a new business idea and during his 25 years in the Bay Area, he ran a chain of successful furniture design stores called Vogue Interiors.
Although a businessman by trade, by nature Ralph was a true intellectual. His appetite for knowledge on all subjects was insatiable. The breadth and depth of his understanding from the most mundane to esoteric topic, was inspiring.
As complex and varied as his favorite wines, Ralph was an enigmatic blend. Challenging but gentle, shrewd yet generous, he was a man with no equal. His presence, now gone from this world, will be missed by all who knew him.
