Robert T. Platt, M.D.
Sept 20, 1938-Sept 12, 2013
Dr. Platt, beloved father, grandfather, doctor and friend, passed peacefully and quietly in his sleep at 8:30 p.m. on Sept 12, 2013 after a long struggle with Lou Gehrig's disease.
He was an active man with a zest for life, loved hiking, conquered Half Dome in Yosemite, loved fine dining, fine wine, and travel and was an avid 49ers fan.
Dr. Platt started his career as a history teacher and later went to medical school where he became a psychiatrist. He moved to San Francisco in 1968 and practiced and was affiliated with UCSF and other facilities until he was unable to continue his practice.
There will be no service, at his request. In lieu of other remembrances, please send a donation in his name to the Lou Gehrig's Association (ALS). http://www.alsa.org/
