Rudy L. Querin

Passed away on December 23, 2013 surrounded by his family.  He was born in Crockett, CA to Giacomo and Lucia Querin on October 22, 1931.  The family moved to Zoppola Italy and after 17 years Rudy returned to the United States.

He was drafted in to the United States Army and served a 2 year enlistment in Korea from 1954-1955. For most of his life Rudy was a union carpenter who worked as a civilian for the Department of Defense. He was past president of Sons of Italy Lodge of Napa and State Deputy at the St Helena Lodge.  He enjoyed playing soccer for Sons of Italy in San Francisco and in Italy.  He helped coach, officiate games and train the coaches for Napa Youth Soccer League.

Rudy is survived by his wife of 51 years, Julie Querin of Napa, children Michael (Karen) Querin of Napa, Sandra (Rob) Wangberg of Durham, Dayna (Tom) of Reno; sisters Mafalda Querin and Brunella Gasparini of Italy; grandchildren Michele Querin, Nicholas Querin and Kathryn Wangberg and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial mass will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 2725 Elm St, Napa, on Saturday January 4, 2013 at 11:00am. Memories and notes of sympathy may be left for the family at claffeyandrota.com.  In lieu of flowers please send donations to Sons of Italy Scholarship Fund, Napa Lodge.
