Rush Manbert Obituary

Rush M. Manbert Sept. 8, 1930 - Sept. 15, 2010 On September 15, 2010, Rush Manbert unexpectedly passed away at home. Rush was born in San Francisco to Elizabeth and Rush Manbert. Rush was a graduate of Lincoln High School and UC Berkeley. As a Cal Bear, he was a member of Kappa Delta Rho. Upon graduation, he became an officer in the U.S. Army. He proudly served his country for 8 years of active duty and retired from the Army Reserves with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He had a thirty year career in Information Services at CSAA. He was a member of the Masonic Order for 59 years and was a Past Master of San Francisco Lodge No. 120. He was also a member of SIRS Branch No. 4, the San Francisco Fishing Club and was an active Travelers Aid volunteer at SFO. Rush enjoyed traveling, cooking, fishing, camping, reading, going to the symphony, spending time with his family, and a good dry martini. Rush is survived by Lois, his loving wife of 58 years; his children Carolyn and Dennis Milton; Rush and Kate Manbert; and Robert and Jill Manbert; grandchildren Tim and wife Alana, Colleen, Elise, Rush, Robbie, Michael and Nick; and his great-granddaughter Adelyn. A memorial service and luncheon for family and friends will be held at the Brotherhood Masonic Center on Thursday, September 23, 2010 at 11:00 am. (855 Brotherhood Way, San Francisco) In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rush's name to the Shriner's Hospitals for Children or the Salvation Army.
