Sara Kelly

Sara Ann Iverson Kelly Was born on December 21, 1947 in Medford, Oregon to the late Lowell A. and the late Mary Lou Iverson. Sara came to San Francisco after college and took a job in the brokerage business. She later became a dispatcher with the San Francisco Police Department, a job she loved for the next 33 years, retiring from the Field Operations Bureau in December 2009. She was "the voice of the Chief" at Candlestick Park and then at Pac Bell Park for over 16 years. Sara passed away quietly after having serious complications with pneumonia. She is survived by her Aunt and Uncle Evelyn and Frank Harden of Grants' Pass, OR; her beloved kitties "Buddy" and "Pipsqueak"; and an army of friends who loved her dearly. Her passing leaves a gigantic void in many, many lives of both present and past members of the S.F.P.D.. A memorial mass will be offered at Saint Josephs' Church, 837 Tennent Avenue, Pinole on Monday September 27, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. A reception celebrating her remarkable life will follow at the home of Sara's friends Mary Tobin and Bill Kelly.
